Win Info is a GUI utility that gives core information about your Windows NT/2000/XP installation.

The new version 2.4 allows checking of remote machines and is now 100% Unicode so it will not run on Windows 9x/ME. Full Windows 2000 and XP support is now also included.

Information shown in the dialog is as follows:

Windows Version The windows version, e.g. Microsoft Windows NT 4, Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP
Build Number Build number of machine
Service Pack Service Pack version of machine
Activation Status For Windows XP this shows if the application has been activated and if not the number of days left until it must be activated
Processor Type Type of processor configuration
Product Type Specific product type:
Windows NT Workstation
Windows NT Server
Windows Terminal Server Edition
Windows NT Enterprise Edition
Windows 2000 Professional
Windows 2000 Server
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Windows 2000 DataCenter
Windows XP Home Edition
Windows XP Professional
Windows XP Server
Windows XP Advanced Server
Windows XP DataCenter
* (DC) at end means the machine is a domain controller
Installation Type The installation type:
Full Version
Time Limited Version (nnn days)
Not For Resale Version
Expiration Date If the installation type is a time limited then when it will expire
Registered Organisation The organisation the software is registered too
Registered Owner The owner the software is registered too
Installation Date Date of installation
Source Path The original path used for the installation media
System Root The system root of the system

Selecting any domain will then list all computer accounts allowing you to inquire on any one of them. You can also manually enter a machine name or IP address in the machine field.
